Small efforts make a big difference. Even an emoji can make your user hate you.

Not all days are Sundays and not all ATM’s have money inside them these days. Such is the case with ICICI bank. The I’s and C’s in their name which otherwise explains Inconvenience and Convenience together. If you are lucky enough you may experience the ‘C’ or else the regular ‘I’ and I was lucky enough to get the ‘I’ today. What was annoying to me was not the inability to withdraw but the Emoticon which was displayed for the error message there.

frustration

Was it that the machine is an iRobot Sonny that can actually use its own expression of imitating the human’s frustration or the Bank wanted to see the reflection of oneself in the machine, whatever it is, it seriously doesn’t help the user to actually get away with such grinning face. When everything is turning flat and user experience is being targeted in almost all products we use in our day to day life. ICICI should seriously consider on changing its Emoticon or atleast apologize without such a furious face.
